Dolphin is a Marisol Skiff designed by Gifford Jackson. I built this boat in Senegal, West Africa in 2002-3. Only hand tools were used. The sail was sewn by my mother. I sailed primarily on the lowers Senegal River, south of St. Louis.
Since 2009 my new sailing base is Long Level, a lake on the Susquehanna River. Building album Caleb's kayak is an Imresboat designed by Jim Michalak

all PDRacers built to plans by Michael Storer. This was a summer 2007 project in Dakar, Senegal. I coached each of my three kids (then ages 10, 12, and 14) as they each built their own boats. They each assembled their own hull all the cutting, gluing and painting. I built the masts, rudders, dagger boards, sails and spars. Building album |
